Feed passage coatings

Our epoxy resin feed passage coatings are primarily designed to withstand the acids in silage. With a traditional concrete feed passage, the acids will eventually eat into the surface causing pits to form.  Silage can become trapped in pits and without significant effort to remove the residue , it can begin to decay, compromising the cleanliness of your feed passage.  

Our epoxy resins create a surface for your feed passage that is easy to clean and maintain. Extremely hard-wearing, the coating can withstand heavy mechanical traffic and daily exposure to acids. The seamless finish means an end to trapped silage, easy push-up and significantly reduced time and labour. 

Cows have very sensitive tongues and concrete feed passages that are rough can be uncomfortable to eat from.   If it is unpleasant to run your hand over the surface of your feed passage it is likely to be causing your cows some discomfort . Our feed passage coatings create a surface that is kind too your herd.  

Increased feed intake is undoubtedly the primary benefit noted by our customers. Feedback from our farmers indicates that a 10% increase in feed intake is achievable following the installation of an epoxy resin feed passage coating.

Our customers have commented that cows like eating from a bright surface. Naturally, the resin is clear, but we are often asked to add a bright colour to  our feed passage coatings to create a more pleasurable dining experience. 

In short, cows eat more  because it’s cleaner, easier and more comfortable.
